Visit from Paul Hilton

On Monday 8th June 2015, Paul Hilton, the external examiner, came to my university to ask my fellow students and me what we thought about the course.

He explained how the marking works and he made sure the student experience was positive.

Positive feedback from third years included getting to choose our own ideas for our final major projects, for example my public information film to raise awareness of Asperger Syndrome.

Mark puts briefs on WebLearn and explains them in more depth in class.

There are regular tutorials with Mark.

Negative feedback included more of an emphasis on film in CCS rather than animation. For the current third years the first year was different because the staff were different and there were no live briefs. In the current third years' second year Mark and Ben Melville joined and taught assignment s based on the 11 Second Club and a live brief with the Museum of London but these are positive aspects of the course.

In the current third years' second year they had Michelle Salomon who taught Adobe After Effects techniques. She taught the current second years traditional animation.

The following feedback from other year groups:

Second and first years worked with Aduna for a live brief. Second and third years participated in the Christmas projection mapping at Surbiton Station. First year was eventful. MA finishes in September.
