Whilst reading the Wikipedia article about the original Charley Says films, I was surprised to learn that they had been 'ressurected' for Electrical Safety First. The two new films use a combination of recycled animation from the original films and new scenes. One warns consumers about the dangers of overloading sockets (above) and the other warns consumers not to purchase counterfiet electrical goods (below). Comedian David Walliams provides the narration and the sounds of Charley's miaows for both films. Although they use stock footage from the six original films, I still like these new films because they maintain the traditional cut-out animation look from the original films and they too inspire me to use the digital cut-out animation technique in my own public information film to raise awareness of Asperger syndrome.
