This week I experimented with making snowflakes made from paper and aluminium foil by cutting art deco-type designs into them. I made six snowflakes in total and I made them in preparation for a mini projection mapping project as a practice run onto Surbiton Station on 27th November.
Below is how the snowflakes turned out:

I based this one and the next four on the chiselled, rectangular embelishments in both art deco interior design and architecture. I like how this design turned out to look like it had chandeliers and a rocket cut into it.

This design is one that looks the most like a snowflake although it also looks like a cog.

This one reminds me of a crab. I based it on triangular art deco designs as well as rectangular ones.

This is my least favourite design because it looks the most basic with only a rectangular art deco-inspired embellishment cut into it.

This design reminds me of an angel's body and I have cut in triangular designs as well as rectangular ones.

This is my favourite of all my designs because it looks the most like a snowflake, or at least part of a snowflake. Although it looks like a paper doily, I am pleased with how it turned out overall and I based it on circular art deco designs.
